Racines

Racines is a textile collection born from a unique collaboration between Élitis, creator and publisher of fabrics, and LUMA through its design research laboratory, Atelier LUMA.

For the first time, a collection has been developed by applying the principles of bioregional design: showcasing Arles merino wool and natural dyes sourced from the local territory. The fertile dialogue between artistic vision and applied research has given rise to a collection of textures, patterns, and colours inspired by the landscapes and history of Arles.

A new textile model

Racines lays the foundations for a new textile model: mindful of natural cycles, respectful of resources, and deeply connected to local cultures.

A collection that is both contemporary and deeply rooted, inviting us to inhabit the world in a different way.

Responsible and traceable production

This project resonates with current ecological challenges through a shared commitment to full traceability, from fiber to finishing, resulting in a fully French-made product where every step is carefully controlled for a more sustainable future. The joint visits to the various production sites enabled us to achieve the level of quality and precision needed to deliver an innovative project that reflects the spirit of Luma and Élitis.
