Barreiros & Barreiros Lda, founded in 1994 with the Tax Identification Number 503246034 and Economic Activity Code 46494 – Other wholesale trade in consumer goods, sells decorative items on the national (mainland and islands) and international (Brazil) markets, aimed exclusively at professionals in the field – architecture, interior design and construction companies, among other organisations involved in the decoration market. The company is responsible for the distribution and/or agency of more than 25 companies, publishers and brands with various products in the fabrics, wallpaper, accessories, carpets, furniture and other decorative items sector.
Application of Terms and Conditions
These general terms and conditions of sale apply to all orders for Products placed with Barreiros & Barreiros Lda by the Customer. The Customer acknowledges that by placing an order with the company, he/she has received, read and accepted these Terms and Conditions.
Sales Price
Items are invoiced according to the price list in force or the value applicable on the day the order is placed. All professional prices are quoted in euros (€) excluding VAT. Price lists intended for the public show the amounts with the legal rates in force.
Minimum Order
1 roll of wallpaper or wall covering (for those sold by the roll).
1 linear metre for fabrics or other items sold by the metre.
1 unit for finished products (accessories, carpets and furniture).
Legal Information Requirement
All price lists shared by Barreiros & Barreiros Lda are confidential and are for the use of professional clients only. The Seller may require the Customer to present, at any time, a commercial licence proving the validity of the company as a professional in the field of interior design, architect, builder, among other similar sectors.
Client File
Before accepting a first order, Barreiros & Barreiros Lda will open an account in the Customer’s name with the terms of sale agreed with the company. The Customer must provide all the information required to establish its legal existence, namely general contact details and tax identification number.
Data Protection
The information requested at the time of the order is necessary to process the order and to fulfil the sales contract, as well as to follow up the order, send invoices, communicate by email and telephone. The data controller is Barreiros & Barreiros Lda, which will not transfer personal data to third parties, except for purposes related to the fulfilment of the order and, in particular, to the couriers that make the delivery.
In accordance with the GDPR, the user has the right to request access to their personal data, as well as its correction, deletion, limitation of processing, the right to object to processing or the right to data portability. Payment Conditions
In general, all orders placed via Barreiros & Barreiros Lda are subject to the issue of a proforma and payment of the agreed amount in order to proceed with the order. The Customer will be notified of the delivery of the order to the premises previously agreed by the Customer.
Barreiros & Barreiros Lda accepts all types of payment – cash, bank cheque or bank transfer – that are valid under the law in force.
Barreiros & Barreiros Lda reserves the right to negotiate specific payment terms with certain customers in relation to their behaviour or the amount of the order placed.
Delayed Payment
In the event of late payment of an invoice and/or proforma, Barreiros & Barreiros Lda may request full payment for all unpaid orders.
In the event of a payment incident, Barreiros & Barreiros Lda shall have the right to change the credit conditions and demand advance payment or a deposit for future orders, and/or seek special guarantees.
If incidents recur and/or if the Customer’s financial situation deteriorates, Barreiros & Barreiros Lda shall have the right to close the Customer’s account and demand advance payment, upon receipt of a pro forma invoice, for any new orders. Refusal to comply with these conditions entitles Barreiros & Barreiros Lda to cancel all or part of the order.
Reservation Policy
The reservation of items is subject to the brands’ existing stock. Barreiros & Barreiros Lda guarantees a 7-day reservation period with no guarantee of payment, which can be extended for a further 7 days. Once the reservation deadline agreed with the Customer has passed, Barreiros & Barreiros Lda is free to sell the available item.
Delivery Time
The delivery dates set out in the order confirmations issued by Barreiros & Barreiros Lda are merely indicative. Any delay does not entitle the Customer to cancel the purchase, refuse the Products or claim compensation.
Transport Policy
Given the specific nature of the Products, delivery is only made by carriers approved by Barreiros & Barreiros Lda.
If the Customer chooses its own carrier, it must assume all costs and risks, regardless of the mode of transport. In the case of express delivery at the customer’s request or cash on delivery, a flat rate will be charged. For furniture and carpets, any delivery to the Customer’s premises or directly to the end customer will be subject to a quotation.
For orders under €300, an additional delivery charge of €30 will apply. This does not apply to customers who are members of the Élitis brand network.
All companies / publishers / brands that have an agency system have different transport conditions and policies. In order to safeguard the client’s interests, Barreiros & Barreiros Lda undertakes to share all transport information when placing an order or sending a quotation. Order Analysis
Barreiros & Barreiros Lda has exceptional quality control on all orders that enter the company’s warehouse. However, orders that are transported directly to the customer, the company does not control their quality and current condition. It is mandatory, at all times, to analyse the Product before use, as well as to carefully examine the fabric, wallpaper or wall covering received before making or applying it. You should also check its condition, as well as the length or quantities, reference and colours.
Complaints Policy
No claims will be accepted after the Product has been cut or used. All types of claims must be made official via e-mail or official document with attachments illustrating the defective and/or damaged goods. Claims will be accepted under the following conditions:
All items are supplied with installation instructions. A tolerance of plus or minus 3 per cent is allowed on the dimensions indicated on the rolls of wallpaper and wallcovering that are sold by the roll. If in doubt, please contact Barreiros & Barreiros Lda before proceeding with the installation.
Barreiros & Barreiros Lda will take complaints into account if up to 3 strips of the Product have been installed. Any installation-related damage will not be taken into account. The application of the material signifies acceptance of the product and its conditions of use.
The fabric must be checked before it is cut and processed. Barreiros & Barreiros Lda will not refund any fabric that has been handled or made up.
The term ‘Finished Product’ includes ready-made items such as decorative cushions, blankets, furniture, rugs and other items sold by the unit at Barreiros & Barreiros Lda. Barreiros & Barreiros Lda accepts claims only if the case is due to bad transport or a manufacturing defect. Claims will not be accepted for items that have been misused.
Return Policy
Any complaint regarding a manufacturing problem or a visible defect must be reported to Barreiros & Barreiros Lda within 15 days of receipt of the Products. Returns of goods will not be accepted without agreement with Barreiros & Barreiros Lda and the supplier involved. For returns, the following conditions must be considered:
To facilitate and speed up the process of replacing goods, orders must be accompanied by the Customer’s information previously requested.
The Customer has the right to choose whether to credit the claim submitted or to re-order the Product or alternative.
Exclusivity Agreement
Barreiros & Barreiros has exclusive distribution and/or agency contracts with various companies, publishers and brands in Portugal and abroad (Brazil). Therefore, if the customer wishes to purchase a product included in the company’s portfolio, they should contact the sales team. Barreiros & Barreiros Lda only undertakes to sign sales contracts with duly identified professionals in the field.
Barreiros & Barreiros Lda undertakes to safeguard the rights of the Client and potential clients involved in the professional market. As such, the sale of items without distributor/agent conformity is prohibited under the following conditions:
When selling to the public, Barreiros & Barreiros Lda advises and shares a balanced market price with professional clients. If the customer wishes to charge a different price to the public, the distributor and/or agent representing the brand will not be held responsible for any damage caused.
Intellectual Property
The Customer acknowledges that the products purchased from Barreiros & Barreiros Lda are subject to intellectual property rights of any kind, including registered designs, and that it is therefore forbidden, under penalty of prosecution, to copy or reproduce registered designs without the written authorisation of the brand involved.
